In addition to the Emergency Response Officer, there are a number of other roles within the Emergency Response organization. Whether these roles are also necessary in a company is determined in the Risk Inventory and Evaluation (RI&E). BHV-plannen
Emergency Response (ER) is not only about acting during emergencies, but also about organizing and arranging the conditions necessary to act correctly. To this end, various plans are drawn up by the company.
These provide answers to questions such as:
- What is our company emergency plan?
- What do we do if a fire breaks out, there is a gas leak, or if someone has a heart attack?
- What first aid supplies are needed?
- Can we evacuate a person in a wheelchair if a fire breaks out and the elevator is out of order?
- Are clear escape routes and evacuation plans available?
But also:
- What are the risks within the company?
- How many Emergency Response Officers do we need?
- Who has which tasks and responsibilities?
- Who monitors the validity of the certificates and the presence of sufficient Emergency Response Officers within the company?
You can see that there is more to the Emergency Response organization than just acting during emergencies. Emergency response also requires planning and coordination.
